Jet Ski Adventures For The Whole Family
If you’re planning to book a jet skiing adventure with us, but aren’t sure what to expect, then you’re in the right place!
Here, you can find out what happens on a jet ski safari, why you should choose us and when our sessions run.
How Jet Ski Safaris Work
Our jet ski safaris give you the chance to explore the open water whilst controlling or riding pillion on one of our Yamaha WaveRunner jet skis.
From our base at Commercial Wharf in Plymouth’s historic Barbican, we’ll get you set up with all the necessary safety equipment before delivering a full and comprehensive training session before you head out on the water.
The jet ski safari is a self-drive adventure, but it doesn’t matter whether you’re a novice or an experienced jet skier. By the end of our safety demonstration, we’ll have you confidently operating the jet ski! The safety training covers areas such as controlling the jet ski at different speeds, maintaining an awareness of other users and the safe operation of the jet skis. Our instructors will also demonstrate some essential safety manoeuvres beforehand.
Once you’ve hit the waves, one of our highly trained instructors will accompany you as a guide and to provide assistance when required. The route we cover is a beautiful stretch of the Sound and Breakwater, taking in the beautiful sights and sounds of the coast from Wembury to Penlee Point. There’s usually plenty of wildlife to spot on our jet ski trail, including dolphins, harbour porpoises and even Minke whales!
Once the jet ski safari has ended, we’ll return to the pontoon so you can dry off, get changed and warm up with a cuppa.
Why Choose Us?
Whilst we are a new company on the block, we’re built from a lifelong passion for water sports and a drive to bring new and exciting events to our home city of Plymouth.
We pride ourselves on providing a jet skiing experience that’s safe and fun. Our instructors are all fully trained, professional and highly experienced to ensure that your jet ski safari runs smoothly and safely. With the safety of our customers our top priority, we’ve implemented a number of safety procedures. For example, our jet skis are fitted with a JetSkiBuddy – an electronic device with built-in distance monitoring to help avoid accidents and collisions, geofencing to ensure riders remain within a specific area and a timetag to alert users when it’s time to head back to the harbour. We’ve also equipped each of our jet skis with radio communications, so that you can receive instructions and remain in touch with the instructor and your fellow riders at all times. We also provide each rider with specialist safety equipment, including a helmet, wetsuit, buoyancy aid and spray vest.
In addition to our robust safety policies and procedures, we are committed to giving back to our local community, by supporting charities and Plymouth based small businesses. We are also actively working alongside the Cattewater Harbour Commission and the Queen’s Harbour Master to introduce waterway regulations in the Plymouth area, to help create a safe jet skiing environment and help change the perception of personal watercraft users in the area.
Our jet ski safaris run from 09:00-18:30, seven days a week during early March to late October. For health and safety purposes, the safaris take place before sunset; so as we move from Summer into Autumn, the last slot of the day becomes earlier.
If the sea is extremely rough, or during adverse weather conditions (strong winds, extreme cold, poor visibility or torrential rain) we will not be able to operate, as the conditions are unsuitable and unsafe for this kind of activity.
