We’re often asked lots of questions about our services, how to book and what’s needed in order to take part in a jet ski safari. With this in mind, we’ve put together an FAQs page to answer the most frequently asked questions!

Q. Where can we find you?
A. We’re based on the Barbican in the historic ocean city of Plymouth. Our offices are at Boathouse 9, Commercial Wharf, Madeira Road, Plymouth, PL1 2NX and we run our jet ski safaris from Pontoon 3, just a stone’s throw from here.
Q. What do I need to wear?
A. Please ensure you have swimwear, sunglasses with a safety strap, a towel and sensible footwear to wear down to the jetty. We will provide you with a wetsuit and buoyancy aid.
Q. What is a jet ski safari?
A. Simply put, a jet ski safari is the opportunity to ride a jet ski on a guided tour with a qualified instructor. Whether you do this solo, with another passenger sharing the jet ski or as a group, you can learn how to control a jet ski and have an adrenaline packed adventure you’ll never forget!
Q. Do I have to share my jet ski with someone?
A. No, you don’t have to share your jet ski unless you want to! You can book to either ride solo or tandem and if you do decide to share your jet ski, our instructor will ensure you’ve both got the chance to ride and be a passenger. Please note, you must be 18 or over to ride solo.
Q. Can I make a group booking?
A. Yes, you can make a group booking! For your reference, we can accommodate up to six people across our three jet skis.
Q. How long is each session?
A. Our jet ski safaris are all 2 hours in length, with 30 minutes for a safety training session and 90 minutes out on the water.
Q. Are hen dos and stag parties welcome?
A. Yes, we welcome stag dos and hen parties! You can book directly through our website or contact us to discuss your needs if you have specific requirements.
Q. When do the safaris run?
A. We run our jet ski tours seven days a week, at a variety of different times. Our safaris are available between March and October – though this is subject to change. Please contact us directly for further information on booking and availability.
Q. Can you accommodate corporate groups for away days or team building activities?
A. Yes, we can offer corporate sessions! Please contact us directly on 07860 898740 to discuss your individual requirements and needs.
Q. English isn’t my first language, will I be able to understand the instructions given by the instructor?
A. Yes, if you are fluent in English. For safety reasons, you will require a high level of fluency in English, in order to understand the instructions being given by the instructor.
Q. I have a pre-existing medical condition, can I book a jet ski safari with you?
A. Please contact us prior to booking if you have a pre-existing medical condition that means you have issues with:
- a lack of bone density and strength
- a history of back injuries or spinal conditions
- any pre-existing injury that may be aggravated by impact
- issues in bracing yourself during turns or impact
Q. What are the minimum and maximum age limits?
A. You must be over the age of 18 to ride the jet ski solo, but you can ride tandem with an adult when you’re 10 or over. Individuals aged 14-17 can drive the jet ski when accompanied by an adult. There is no fixed maximum age limit.
Q. I can’t swim, can I still book a tour?
A. Unfortunately not. We require all participants to be able to swim and be confident in the water for health and safety purposes.
Q. Can I take part in a jet ski safari if I’ve consumed alcohol beforehand?
A. We take our health and safety practices very seriously, so if our instructors suspect you’re under the influence of drugs or alcohol, they will carry out an alcohol/drug test to determine your suitability to participate. This is not only for your own safety but for the safety and wellbeing of our instructors, your fellow passengers and other sea users. Refusal to undertake the alcohol/drug test will result in you not being able to take part in the jet ski safari.
